About Us

Since 1965, the Hemophilia Foundation of Minnesota/Dakotas (HFMD) has been providing quality programs and services to our bleeding disorders community. These programs include our amazing summer camp for kids, patient financial assistance for members experiencing financial crisis, post-secondary scholarships, group fitness events, annual member meeting, and ongoing education programs. (See more detail under our Programs & Services tab)

We work closely with our affiliated Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) to carry out these programs and services, we and are very grateful for their support of our mission. *In the two-state area of Minnesota and South Dakota there are approximately 880 individuals effected with hemophilia or related bleeding disorders.

The HFMD currently has two staff, and twelve Board members who volunteer their time in many ways to this organization. HFMD has two annual fundraising events; our Hearts of Hope Gala, and annual Walk “Step Out for Bleeding Disorders”.  Our funding comes from Individual donors, affiliated HTCs, and sponsors. We bring all stakeholders together toward the common goal of serving our bleeding disorders community.

HFMD is a proud member organization of the National Hemophilia Foundation and the Hemophilia Federation of America. Click HERE for the HFMD brochure.
